BREAKING NEWS!
Ministry Developments and Prayer Requests

March 2008

Dear Friends and Supporters of Let There Be Light Productions:

Happy New Year!  Oh, well, Happy Easter?  I've been rather ashamed of not keeping up with the web site, but so much has happened in the life of this ministry and my family, I hope you'll understand and graciously forgive my tardiness.

We had listed several prayer requests last October (October?  It really has been a long time), including a request that God would hasten the sale of our property.  Well, we thank you for your prayers, even though God's answer was "Don't worry about selling, just move."  We moved into our 240 square foot motor home the week before Thanksgiving, and enjoyed a cold, wet holiday season from the other side of the windshield.  We had to give up our property, but God has since blessed us with an adorable cottage to call home, one that fits our monthly budget quite nicely.  Not that we weren't willing to maintain a longer stint in the RV, but the dogs had had just about enough.

In passing, our first and oldest magic dove, Dork (that really was her name), died while we were in our temporary home.  After 15 years of being pulled out of a great variety of small spaces, and disappearing from even more, she definitely earned her eternal rest.  (All dogs go to Heaven; how about birds?)

While housed in the RV, we were able to minister several times throughout the Christmas season: a convalescent home in Oakhurst; the "Heartland" (a day program for developmentally delayed adults) Christmas party, sponsored by the Catheys Valley Garden Club; the Cherish (meals for needy adults) Christmas dinner, sponsored by the Atwater Kiwanis Club; as well as a variety of smaller engagements throughout the Central Valley.  We continue to fill ministry invitations, regardless of the sponsoring organization's ability to pay.  Watching a roomful of people experience the Gospel in a fresh, exciting, new manner makes it all worthwhile.

Since the new year, we have developed and are training a whole new team of assistants, and are anticipating a large, multi-church outreach in the summer.  If you're interested in helping us sponsor this, or know someone who might be, please email or call - the earlier, the better.

In closing, consider with me the words of Paul the Apostle, taken from his letter to the Philippian Christians:  "I give thanks to my God for your steady remembrance of me.  In all my prayers for you, I make supplication with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the very first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun the good work among you, the same will continue until the day of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:3-6).
