Sept 13 2007

Dear Friends -

I would like to thank you for attending the recent Gospel outreach event, "A Night of Mystery, Illusion, and Truth", on September 7, 2007.  It was a joy to have you there, and I hope that you had as much fun as I did! I also hope that you left encouraged in your heart, reminded of all that God has done for you.

My purpose in presenting these shows is to build the Kingdom of God.  This recent event was no different.  I want to let you know that we had several people respond to God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.  As followers of Christ, we can do no greater thing than to lift up His Name, partnering in the Holy Spirit's drawing of all men to the Cross.  Thank you for joining me in this exciting work!  I think you can understand at least a little bit of the excitement and passion I feel, seeing the Spirit of God work in the lives of those who attend these shows; I wish I could do more of them.

My passion is that everyone I meet would know the joy I have found through new life, freedom, and salvation through Jesus Christ.  I don't preach a church or denomination or a method of baptism; I preach salvation and eternal life found only in the Son of God, and the joy, hope and love that come from Him.

This year alone we have seen hundreds of people realize God's great gift for themselves.  After the performance you saw, a man on the verge of suicide realized that he really did have a reason to live.  This is a humbling and awesome responsibility, and I covet your prayers that God would continue to strengthen and enable me to shoulder that responsibility well.

This ministry has seen thousands of people come to Christ over the last ten years.  I pray that we get to see thousands more in the future.  You have seen how I present the Gospel, and I hope you can now explain it to others.  Prayer and networking are the greatest gifts you can give me.

For the last ten years, I have ministered as an evangelist on the side of being a full-time staff pastor.  It has been a mission of love, one that was easily afforded because as pastors, our church provided for us.  Last December, however, my wife and I took a huge leap of faith, believing that God wanted this ministry not on the back burner, but at the forefront of our lives.  We left a very comfortable, well-supported life in The Salvation Army, and followed God's leading into full-time evangelism.

God has provided my wife with a great job and ministry of her own within that job,.  She works hard to support us, just as I work hard to book engagements to further spread the Gospel.  I use part time help that we can sometimes afford to pay (depending on if we get paid - if it comes down to dollars vs. the Good News, guess which wins?).  I perform two to three times a month, usually at my own expense.

I do have some specific prayer concerns for you:

   - *Pray for all those who have not heard the great and wonderful news of salvation through Jesus Christ. I want to reach as much of the whole world as I can in this life, fulfilling the Great Commission with the talents God has given me.

   - *Pray for our young assistants, and for more to offer themselves to participate.  In the history of this ministry, as I teach young people the art and secrets of stage illusion, I also teach them the ways of the Lord.  The young people I discipled through this ministry years ago  still keep in touch, and walking with the Lord today.

   - *Pray for our property to sell.*  The proceeds will pay off bills that we are struggling with.  Five acres with a well, septic, power and phone lines for a bargain...but the market is slow.   Pray that God would send the right buyer quickly. While you're praying for that, also pray that at just the right time, an adequate rental will open up - not just for us, but for our flock of feathered and furry magical crew!

   - *Pray for financial supporters.*  As an independent ministry, I don't have a church or other ministry covering, so donations at this time are just that - donations, true love offerings.  I am applying for my own 501(c)(3), at which point any donations will be tax-deductible.  100 people donating $20.00 a month would cover our monthly mission costs completely. With that kind of support, we will be able to minister wherever we are called.

Before I close, I want to invite you to respond however God leads you.  I keep close tabs on everyone who contacts me, so send me your thoughts, your concerns, your prayer requests, your praise reports.  E-Mail Me
wfw5841@yahoo.com , or throw a letter in the mail if, like my wife, you like the sentimentality of a handwritten note.  I assure you that I will read every letter, pray for every request, and honor your participation in this ministry God has entrusted me with. Know that I love you, and I bring you before the Father every day with great joy, knowing of your participation in the Gospel.
